5 Tips for Healthy Hair

1.Use Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar is going to strip the hair of any products that shampoo cannot remove.  If you use hairspray, heat protectants, or any other styling products you need to be using Apple Cider Vinegar pre-shampooing once a week.

2.Use a Silk Pillowcase

Tossing and turning at night pulls and breaks your hair on a regular pillowcase.  By using a silk pillowcase you can prevent hair breakage and your hair will be smoother in the morning.  Silk pillowcases are also better for your skin. You can get a silk pillowcase here.

3.Use a Hair Mask

Hair masks are not only great for keeping your hair moisturized but essential if you go swimming.  Use a hair mask before swimming to avoid damage from salt, chlorine, and bleach.  My favorite hair mask is the Christophe Robin Regenerating Mask.

4.Stop Styling Daily

Heat is bad for your hair even if you use a heat protectant.  Try finding ways to style your hair without heat tools.

5.Rinse with Cold Water

Rinsing your hair with cold water is going to lock in moisturizer leaving your hair smooth.  It’s also going to make your hair look incredibly shiny!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

It’s FINALLY that time of year again-the Nordstrom Anniversary sale is coming!  Almost everyone has heard of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale by now.  It’s popular for a good reason-items on sale are for the upcoming season, not the last season.  The sale can be a bit overwhelming so below are my picks from the sale.

Since these will all be new arrivals I, unfortunately, cannot link each item.  However, once the sale starts you will be able to shop these items here. The sale officially starts on July 21st and ends on August 7th.  If you are a Nordstrom cardholder you will have early access to the sale starting July 13th.  Happy shopping!

5 Tips for Healthy Skin

1.STOP Taking Hot Showers

Taking a hot shower will deplete your skin of moisture.  It will also make your skin irritable and prone to acne, psoriasis, and eczema.  I love a scolding hot shower but I have slowly adjusted the temperature over time.

2. Dry Brushing

Dry brushing is my secret weapon to healthy skin.  Dry brushing exfoliates the skin, allowing an all over healthy glow. It also diminishes the appearance of cellulite. You can get a dry brush at almost every grocery store or drugstore.  You can also order one here.

3. Eat Healthy

This is an obvious tip but also the most important. I cannot stress enough how important it is to properly nourish your body.  Many people are overfed but undernourished.  Focus on eating whole foods to get your daily intake of fruits and vegetables.

4. Always Use Lotion After Showering

Even if you stop taking hot showers it is important to continue moisturizing your skin.  I suggest putting lotion on immediately after your shower, while your skin is damp.  By doing this you will lock in moisture. My favorite body lotion is Gold Bond Ultimate Healing Lotion.

5. Protect Your Skin

Everyone knows to use a sunscreen on your face to prevent sun spots an wrinkles, but it is equally as important to use sunscreen on your body.  I suggest mixing sunscreen into your daytime body lotion.  If you only focus on your face, at a certain age your face will still look young but the rest of your body will show your age. I personally love the smell of Coppertone, but if you don’t want to smell like sunscreen on a daily basis, I suggest trying Neutrogena Pure and Free.
